Linus will start Sunday’s Indy Lights race in Nashville from his sixth pole position of the season following the cancellation of Saturday’s qualifying session…
Initially delayed due to thunderstorms in the circuit area, the grid-deciding session was ultimately scrapped altogether once it became clear time was running out for it to be staged after the similarly heavily-delayed INDYCAR session.
According to the rulebook, the grid is instead to be shaped by championship order, handing Linus an automatic pole position by virtue of leading the points standings.
He will share the front row of the grid tomorrow with main title rival Hunter McElrea.
LINUS: “I’m a little bit sad that qualifying got cancelled, to be honest. I think this place in a qualifying session would have been awesome. I think it would have been a good fight between us – but we’ll take starting on pole for the race. I’m definitely taking advantage of that aspect.
“We’ll see what tomorrow brings. The weather looks a little bit dodgy. It might be wet, and that will make things interesting, for sure.”
Sunday’s race is scheduled to start at 🇺🇸12:00 pm (U.S. Central) / 🇸🇪19.00.
