Linus recorded the fourth quickest time for the second straight practice session on the streets of Nashville despite tagging the wall, as several drivers appear set to dispute the front row of the grid in qualifying this afternoon.
In a carbon-copy of Friday’s opening practice session, Benjamin Pedersen again headed the times for HMD Motorsports in FP2 with Linus in fourth, the pair split this time around by Andretti duo Hunter McElrea and Matthew Brabham.
With the quartet tightly packed for most of the session, Pedersen ultimately managed to establish a 0.3s gap late on, although McElrea, Brabham and Linus – as well as fifth-placed Danial Frost – all wound up within a mere tenth of each other.
Linus’ efforts, however, were hampered by clattering the wall at Turn 8 on what was set to be his quickest lap.
LINUS: “I’ve got a good feeling in the car. I was pushing more today and tagged the wall on the exit of Turn 8 on my quickest lap, which would probably have been enough to go P1. It wasn’t a big hit at all, but enough to abandon the lap. I think we’ll be in the mix for pole this afternoon, so I’m looking forward to it.”
With times appearing close, it sets up a potential big fight over the front couple of rows in qualifying, which is due to commence at 2:40 pm / 21.40.
