After a much-needed weekend off, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES now moves on to Monterey, California to take on one of the most popular circuits in the USA – Laguna Seca – and its world-renowned number one feature: the Corkscrew.
Linus and the #8 crew have chosen to focus on the fantastic achievement at Road America two weeks ago when they took their first pole position together. Although the race didn´t turn out as they had hoped, they are now more focused than ever on building on the success that Road America brought.
– It´s been nice to have a weekend off after an intense month of back-to-back racing. The Road America weekend was one of the best and worst weekends I’ve been part of – says Linus. From the joy of taking pole position in INDYCAR as a rookie, which no rookie has done since 2021, to once again end up at the back of the field and having to fight our way to an ok position in the end. Very frustrating at the time, but I must say that my crew around the #8 car are fantastic, everyone is a fighter, and no one gives up no matter what.
It will be really fun to come back to Laguna Seca, The Corkscrew is definitely a unique feature, but there are other parts of the track that are very technical too. It’s up and down all the time, it’s fast, and it’s one of those circuits where you can actually experiment quite a lot with different lines and driving techniques. For a driver, it’s a very interesting track.” – Linus concludes.
