Linus secured yet another front row slot on the Indy Lights grid in first qualifying at Laguna Seca, splitting title contenders Kyle Kirkwood and David Malukas…
On a glorious afternoon in the California sunshine, Linus found himself not entirely content with the balance of his GRG/HMD car, trailing Andretti Autosport rival Kirkwood by 0.37s but out-pacing team-mate Malukas by a tenth as the usual suspects ran out front.
The outcome marks Linus’ third straight front-row qualifying performance, having also gone second fastest in both grid-deciding sessions last weekend at Portland.
LINUS: “P2 again, which I’m getting a little tired of to be honest! It’s obviously a good place to start, but we do want more and today we didn’t have the greatest day. We’re struggling a little bit with the balance of the car, so we know there’s more in it, and that’s what we’ll try to find tomorrow. I guess getting onto the front row on days like these is actually a good sign, and I’ll take it, but we’ll go for it again tomorrow and hopefully we’ll be a bit faster then.”
Action resumes at Laguna Seca on Saturday with Qualifying 2 and the first race of the weekend.
