Fending off three Andretti Autosport cars, led by Matthew Brabham, Linus was the only driver to exceed 158 mph around the short lap, pipping Brabham by 0.03s.
Behind Brabham, team-mates Hunter McElrea and Christian Rasmussen followed, with Sting Ray Robb making it four Andretti cars in the top six – split by Jacob Abel in P5.
Further back, meanwhile, Linus’ HMD Motorsports team-mates occupied positions 7-10.
Indy Lights returns to action on Saturday with qualifying and the race.
