Linus stormed to pole position for the opening Indy Lights race of the weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, setting the pace in Qualifying 1 at the “Racing Capital of the World”…
On a beautiful morning of running, Linus featured prominently in the battle for pole throughout, eventually lowering the ultimate benchmark to a 1m15.097s.
That effort was enough to distance the opposition – led by Juncos Racing’s Toby Sowery – by just over a tenth of a second.
GRG/HMD team-mate David Malukas was third quickest, just ahead of Andretti Autosport’s Kyle Kirkwood.
Linus’ second pole of the year is awarded with a valuable bonus point in the championship.
LINUS: “Yes! That’s a great feeling, and the perfect way to start off the day. It was a good couple of laps there in the end, although I felt there was a bit more in it from my side. It’s great, but only half the job done. Let’s see what the race brings – that’s where my mind is right now.”
The opening race of the weekend takes place at 2.10 pm local time on Friday. Streaming is available LIVE here at www.linuslundqvistracing.se.
