Linus got this weekend’s Indy Lights event at Gateway off to a strong start, going a close second fastest in Friday practice while keeping down his lap count…
Completing just 15 tours of the 1.25-mile oval – the least of any driver in the field (tied with Danial Frost) – Linus wound up a mere 0.04s behind HMD Motorsports team-mate Benjamin Pedersen.
Linus stuck to just a few qualifying simulation runs, and then spent the rest of the session on pitlane, content with the work completed.
LINUS: “A strong start to the weekend. The car feels great; the team has done a good job so far. We were quick here last season already, so it’s nice to see that pace transferring into this year.
“We know it’s going to come down to hundredths of a second in qualifying, if not thousandths. It will be all about scrubbing off as little speed as possible and tuning the car into the conditions and grip levels. I’m excited to go out there and put in those two laps – starting out front will be crucial here.”
Qualifying takes place at 🇺🇸5:15-5:45 pm / 🇸🇪00.15-00.45. Each driver will do two consecutive flying laps, with the average speed used to determine the starting grid for Saturday’s race.
