2023 Debut - NTT INDYCAR SERIES

2023 is initially spent on the sidelines for Linus, who – in spite of his dominant Indy Lights title the year before – is left in the cold on the INDYCAR driver market. It is a significant disappointment, compounded by several rivals from 2022 stepping up to the top tier aided by financial backing.

Good things come to those who wait, however. In August, Linus finally gets his NTT INDYCAR SERIES opportunity when Meyer Shank Racing calls him up to replace the injured Simon Pagenaud.

The long-awaited debut takes place in the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix in Nashville, with Linus immediately impressing the paddock by making it through the opening round of qualifying. He then sets the fastest lap of the race on-debut.

The Nashville effort lands him a second opportunity in the following race, the Gallagher Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Again on the pace, Linus comes home 12th to score the best result of the entire season for Meyer Shank Racing’s #60 entry.

Following another outing at Gateway, where he sets another fastest lap in his first-ever INDYCAR oval event, Linus is signed by championship-winning outfit Chip Ganassi Racing on a multi-year agreement starting in 2024. It’s a breakthrough moment in Linus’ career; taking him into one of motorsport’s most coveted seats.
