Linus came out on top in a thrilling intra-team battle over pole position with HMD Motorsports colleague Benjamin Pedersen in qualifying at Barber Motorsports Park, snatching P1 by 0.02 of a second.
In what marked a highly tense 30-minute session, the top four wound up covered by just over a tenth, with nine cars lapping within half a second of Linus’ 1m12.571s benchmark.
LINUS: “Yes! So great to be back on pole, and to do it here at Barber – one of my favourite tracks. Big thanks to the HMD guys for giving us such a competitive car. It’s going to be a long race, and there is quite a probability for rain, but there’s no better place to start than at the front and I can’t wait to try and seal the deal tomorrow.”
The race – the second of the 2022 Indy Lights season – takes place at 10:00 am / 17.00 on Sunday.
