Battling team-mate David Malukas for top spot once again, the Global Racing Group/HMD Motorsports duo eventually found themselves separated by a mere 0.022 seconds in the scrap for Race 2 pole.
While Linus came out fractionally short on this occasion, the outcome completed what can only be labelled a highly successful start to the new campaign, leaving Linus on the front row of the grid for both races of his debut Indy Lights weekend.
LINUS: “That was close! Kudos to David; he did a good job and it’s great to have us both up there again. It’s always a bit frustrating to lose out on pole by such a small margin, but I’ll take it on a day like this. Part of the job is done, especially with overtaking likely to be quite difficult around here, and I’m looking forward to going racing tomorrow.”
The first race of the 2021 Indy Lights campaign takes place on Saturday.
