Linus will line up fourth in Sunday’s Indy Lights race at Portland International Raceway, ahead of his main remaining title challengers…
Linus is set to start behind HMD Motorsports team-mates Benjamin Pedersen (who scored his first-ever pole position) and Danial Frost, as well as Andretti Autosport’s Christian Rasmussen, as just under two tenths separated the top four in a tense qualifying session.
Meanwhile, main title rivals Matthew Brabham and Hunter McElrea will both take the green flag behind Linus, the Andretti duo qualifying sixth and seventh respectively.
Linus will wrap up the title early if he leaves Portland with a 109-point lead in the standings. He currently sits 108 clear of Brabham.
LINUS: “It was close, like we expected, and this was the best we could do today. Congratulations to Benjamin on his first pole position! I’m always going for P1, but I’m relatively pleased and we’re all close on pace, so anything can happen in the race – especially here with that first chicane. Hopefully we can get through there cleanly and race for the victory.”
The Indy Lights Grand Prix of Portland is set to go green at 10:20 am / 19.20 on Sunday.
