Slotting in 0.6s adrift of Andretti Autosport’s pace-setter Hunter McElrea, it wasn’t quite the start to the weekend Linus and HMD Motorsports were hoping for, as an experimental set-up direction did not yield the projected results.
Linus and HMD team-mate Benjamin Pedersen posted near-identical times as they led the squad’s charge in P7 and P8.
LINUS: “We’ve got some work to do. We tried a set-up that didn’t really work, but at least now we’ve given it a go. We have some thinking to do overnight, but I’m confident that we can revert to a good baseline and get ourselves in the mix tomorrow.”
Running resumes on Saturday with a second practice session and qualifying ahead of Sunday’s race.
